Instrucciones para desorganizar una cuadricula
This interactive piece generates squares that emerge from the center of the canvas, expanding in all directions as the user moves the mouse. The further away from the center, the greater the dispersion of the figures. The stroke can be changed in real time by pressing the A, S or D keys, adding chromatic variations to the visual path.
This work introduces an interactive dimension: the viewer actively participates in the visual construction, moving the mouse and generating a unique composition at each moment. The result is a synthesis between classic generative art and contemporary exploration in real time.
Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development
Inspired by the research of Vera Molnar and Georg Nees, the work shares with them the use of elemental geometry and controlled chance. De Molnar takes up the systematic exploration of variations within simple structures; of Nees, the idea of progressive disorder based on predictable logic.
This generative work is part of a redefinition of contemporary art that no longer focuses on the production of objects, but on the creation of active and situated experiences. The further art moves away from the production of objects, the more it detaches itself from traditional market and collecting formats. The work displays a changing constellation of squares, where each figure can be read as a form of electronic art: net art, generative art, interactive installation, bioart. The work does not illustrate these categories, but rather puts them into circulation and makes them visible as a field of unstable relationships, open to the intervention of the viewer. There is no closed definition of electronic art, but rather an expanded network of possibilities, as Brea suggests in both texts.
