Brief description.

** As we play the sketch, the image is generated pixel by pixel, simultaneously with the voices of the different women in my family, in a loop. Although the image becomes increasingly clearer, it is never completely complete. This process, along with the continuous sound, suggests how my roots, always present and in construction, connect me to a family history that remains unfinished but deeply intertwined in my identity.**

Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development

In this work, image, sound and code take on a special meaning when they are integrated. They relate to each other: From the sound that the voices of the women in my family take, to the image that is formed pixel by pixel, building a visual and sound narrative that dialogues with my roots. Family roots represent a deep connection to the ancestors, history, and identity we inherited. A story that is a significant part of each person, that is built little by little, just like the image that makes up this work.

This conceptual search is a necessary part of the story that constitutes the framework of this work, along with other fundamental elements such as the code and its performative notion, to which the author Inke Arns refers, in her article “the code as a performative speech act.” In his approach, the code is not only used as a tool to fulfill a process, but also as a means to reflect and transmit intentionality, it implies an artistic activity. The choice of the different materials or elements that constitute this work carry an intentional charge, pointing to an idea or concept. In this way, it also dialogues with the idea of Cesar Aira in his book “on contemporary art” and the importance of the context and its story that give depth to what is seen and heard. Without forgetting that it ends up being completed with the viewer’s interpretation.
