Artwork presentation

Eclipse

Artist: Julian Gonzalez Garrido

The work becomes a visual symphony that fuses contemporary art and environmental reflections. The dance of the sphere and the toroids, with its play of colors and brief blackouts, invites deep and active contemplation. A work that dialogues with transience and awakens the viewer’s participation in the creation of meaning.

Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development

This work stands as a visual symphony that intertwines the essence of contemporary art with the reflections on the environment proposed by Marchain Fiz. Technically, it displays a harmonious dance where a sphere beats continuously, while the internal toroids rotate in different directions. Without being merely code, it becomes a visual experience meticulously conceived to invite active contemplation. From an aesthetic point of view, the work appears as a canvas in constant evolution. The sphere and toroids converge in a visual dance that conveys a sensation of fluidity and diversity, fusing minimalism with elegance. The choice of colors and mirror materials provides a subtle modernity, like brushstrokes in a painting that is reinvented at every moment.

Conceptually, the project dives into the relaxed philosophy of Marchain Fiz. The constantly moving sphere evokes the image of a sensory amusement park, where each turn becomes a unique and dynamic experience. But here, there is an additional twist: absence. Suddenly, we find ourselves with the lack of light, the absence of color. It’s as if a sudden hole opens up, dropping us into a time gap. This momentary interruption invites reflection on the transience of artistic experiences and how even absence can be a form of expression. In turn, each moment without light and color becomes a blank canvas, a space where the viewer’s mind can fill in the gaps with its own interpretation. Here, the work connects with César Aira’s ideas about the importance of context and interpretation in contemporary art. The absence of predefined visual elements invites the viewer to be an active interpreter, to project their own meanings and contexts onto the blank visual canvas.

This work is a meticulous expression that intertwines Fiz’s thoughtful ideas with Aira’s insightful reflections. It is not just a technical exercise; is a thought-provoking piece, an exploration of the multiplicity of perspectives and the vitality of art in its environment. By integrating moments of absence, the code adds an additional layer of complexity and reflection, prompting viewers to actively participate in the creation of meaning, thus uniting visual dance with the philosophy of contemporary art.
