Desmaterialización Sensacional
Sensational Dematerialization
Brief description:Random choices and transitions, fluidity in perception with certain electrical responses to a generative stimulus. This is a proposal that requires the intervention of the viewer to specify the work or modify it partially, if desired, taking as reference experiments with primitive figures in the exploration of generative and computational art.
Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development Technical development: Popular programming, made with an open source JavaScript library that can be used to create and develop interactive projects in the field of creative programming and data visualization. It is used in this case to create graphics and interactive applications that run directly in a web browser.
Instructions: folder2: Interact with the mouse, clicking on the right or left button to move forward or backward, thus generating your choice of work. generative 3: Click on the canvas and move with the mouse over it to generate your work, try changing speeds when moving!
Artistic references: George Nees, like Michael Noll and Frieder Nake, are considered pioneers of generative art and computational art in general. His works are characterized by using mathematical algorithms to generate graphic compositions and symmetrical patterns. They developed computer programs that generated geometric and abstract images based on mathematical and algorithmic principles. They explored the aesthetic possibilities of computer programs for creating visual art.
“The work is created mainly in the mental phase of its Conception, its realization is indifferent.”
Dematerialization…The important thing is the concept…The idea over the form.
As Nadia Walravens says “the concept of the work is the work” since ideas are considered works and are claimed as such by artists. It is true that some object remains exposed or can be exposed from these ideas; But these objects do not have to be made or signed by the artist to move in the art world, while they do need to be accompanied by explanations, statements or instructions given by him. In contemporary art, many artists tend to make us forget the material form of the work and invite the viewer to a visual experience of space, the work free of any material form turns out to be just a sensation. Where there were works now there is only experience, the works have been replaced in artistic production by devices and procedures that function as a work and produce the pure experience of art. The purity of the aesthetic effect almost without conditions or support except perhaps for some technical devices that generate these effects, installations are the paradigm of these effect-generating devices. The creator becomes a producer of experiences, this will not be the end of art but the end of its regime as an object. “Declaration of Intent” (Lawrence Weiner) indicates that the work could be made by the artist or someone else, or not made at all: not only could the work be immaterial but the uncertainty regarding its actual realization is essentially what remains. Currently there are certain devices that can be deployed in different contexts, Works with instructions documented by the artist. Recognizing this replacement of manufacturing by choice, said choice is a creative act, which reveals the arbitrariness of the artist and his creative freedom, which no longer responds to a material act of the artist’s “doing” but to a thought that necessarily carries out a “choice.” The idea of the imprint of the artist’s personality is no longer the result of a physical participation of the artist, but can manifest itself in a choice or an intention, without which the substance of the work could not be clearly understood.
