DesESPERA
//Brief description: //The passage of time and the desperation it causes me is what made me want to represent it in some way possible in this work. We all know that time passes and we can do nothing, some of us live life as if it were a race, hurrying and rushing, furious with those who do not hurry, we do not understand those who live in the present, those who are “slow”, from our perception, since we suggest that they are wasting our time, but; Does time really exist? We could say that time is a subjective perception of each being, since the past is not always true due to the finite perception of the human being, -the present at the moment it is present, stops being present- -The condition of the present—(Bergson) and the future is uncertain, or the future is right now, when the present stops being present. So what is time? Why do we run? Why don’t we stop it?
//Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development: In this work I want to play with contrasts; the warm climate with a beach setting, where the user can see an image that gives warm sensations, but when interacting with the work, feels disconcerted by so much noise and “visual pollution” at once, also using a red color in the background since the color red sometimes alters the human eye. Perhaps making the user mute the sound, and leave the work as it was at the beginning. With this I want to represent in some way what goes through my head constantly; being at “peace” and having time come to overwhelm me and rush me. //There is a war between science and humanities since science is optimistic while the humanities have a more postmodern point of view (Phillip Galanter), having an infinite variety of ideas, different from each other and contradicting each other. Thus making “the humanities” in my way of seeing it, refers to sensitivity, fragility, depth or the intangible. While science is more exact, more “frivolous”; In the case of my work I feel that science would be the codes, which together create a “something”, but which have to work exactly so that the work can be visualized; The work, on the contrary, would be humanity since it is what it transmits, what has a sensitivity and a depth.
