What better idea than to stop what you were doing for 5 minutes and try this game? With the variety of choosing 3 different sets. Inspired more than anything by games made in Adobe Flash, specifically those that involve dressing a cute doll with pretty clothes.
Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development
Before delving into the thoughts I have with my work, I would like to explain a little about the functioning of this painting. Composed of 2 large parts, the graphic and the application itself; a mix between illustrations and a background design for the work. Then the part where I take all that and put it together, I give the application operation to generate interactivity, through the use of repetitive structures and delimiting spaces to generate the option of changing the images between them thanks to the mouse.
Now, the part where I try to put in writing what is going through my head; All of this starts with nostalgia and the type of content that I liked at the time and continues to this day, a question that started from a simple idea of portraying a dress-up game, filling it with pretty clothes and somewhat childish elements; for the simple fact of doing something that is beautiful and looking for a way to get back to this work by pointing out ideas that I may find fun, looking for something in the process that is entertaining, and above all being able to use my drawings.
Not only did I have to get around it by doing something that included things that interest me, I also had to find a relationship with what I was reading in the course, it wasn’t that difficult, after reading a little and researching, I found Fricke’s text “New Media” interesting, specifically when he talks about “fluxus”, and my conclusion was: the search for the simple, the playful and how this was mixed with various media. Although as I progressed with the work, it was somewhat difficult and I complicated things by wanting to add more, thinking to “improve” an idea that started with something very trivial, quite contradictory about “not trying.” Eventually I gave up and returned to the focus of making something aesthetically beautiful, something where the viewer interacts with the work and plays for at least 1 minute.
