This work is aesthetically based on those styles that are usually seen lately both on networks, and by simply doing a basic search it is full of these types of styles, which base the “Futuristic” and the “Retro”. Taking it to a more visual and interactive level for the observer. Based on some ideas from “The new uses of Performance art” by Diana Taylor and the classification of Montage by Simó Mulet, Toni. Made mostly with 3D objects with textures similar to those of the original styles of this style and a musical piece which takes us through this environment, both retro and futuristic due to its aesthetics and digital realization. Being able to also interact with the space to give a feeling of being inside it and being able to manage it in some way. In addition to interacting with the space, you can also interact with the music itself, being able to stop it, resume it and return to the beginning.
Based primarily on “The New Uses of Performance Art” by Diana Taylor, in one part it talks about how the virtual world is basically an extension of us today and how we live in the real world and the virtual world, which for us is normal to be in both worlds, alternating between one and the other as if it were walking from one room to another. Also being able to switch between the timelines of the past and the present, being able to remember or find out about a distant past through the infinite amount of information spread on the Internet, or the simple fact of seeing an old photo of a person and remembering that moment in which the photo was taken. Based on this thought, I tried to generate a work which unites these two times, past and present, through a style that personally attracts me quite a bit visually, having both that “Retro” style that gives you that feeling of seeing something from past times, as well as that feeling of currentness both due to the quality or looking like a “remake” of the style itself, bringing it to the present and in the case of my work, bringing it in an interactive way which can give the feeling that the person is changing certain aspects. of the work.
It also brings a certain aspect of the definition of Montage according to Simó Mulet, Toni. Which is defined very similar to what “assemblage” is, removing objects from different works, places, ideas, etc. And capture them in the same work, only that the montage is defined as something more virtual than “real.” In this case, try to use more things in addition to this “Retro-Futuristic” style, bringing in addition to 3D objects to represent this style and be able to see how they move and change positions or colors, also adding music and a sound spectrum which in a certain way is included to represent a kind of mountains in space with waves that change as the music plays. Technically speaking, this work is made up of both 3D objects as well as spectrum and music. 3D objects such as the sun and the sky are two spheres that rotate on one of their axes. Both have a different color gradient that as they rotate, their color changes, thus making their position not the same and with good timing you can clearly see how it goes from day to night and vice versa every time they both rotate at the same time. There is also a rectangle which is rotated in such a way that it forms what the floor is in perspective, it has a texture made of light blue lines that are assimilated with neon for that effect that this type of works have, this floor is also interactive, therefore, with the mouse it can be moved from one side to the other, giving that sensation that the floor moves as the viewer wishes.
