Pasan cosas

Artist: Florencia Paula León

“Pollock made us see that it is necessary to allow ourselves to be disturbed and even dazzled by the space and objects of our daily lives, by our bodies, our clothes, our rooms and, if necessary, by the enormity of the street. (…) These audacious creators not only showed us, as if for the first time, the world that we have always had around us without paying attention to it, but they also revealed events” Allan Kaprow THINGS HAPPEN is an experience designed so that with your intervention in the work you experience a happening.

Your intervention is only a moment, in a work that is presented to you at random, you can mix colors until you completely modify the work, from this you have nothing left but an experience full of color that perhaps awakens in you an idea, a light, a place for art in your life. “Happenings are, in short, acts that occur” (Kaprow, 1961, page 69)

Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development

In my sketch I declared the variables that I later used to insert the images. Also use random() to have the same program randomly choose a number from one to five, which in turn are connected to an if structure to choose the work. Also in draw() use the mouseIsPressed function to create a brush that takes the colors of the pixels over which the mouse passes.
