Pensamiento confuso

Artist: Karina Gissel Giron

My work is made up of flat and 3D shapes, the 3 cubes and the sphere that move independently on their axis. The circle surrounding the cube is an audio display with small circles that look like particles. The colored points in the center are a flow field code that the points move randomly, including the color which is also random, these three codes are planar/2D. You can pause the play and move the small sphere with the mouse cursor in interaction mode.

Technical, aesthetic and conceptual development

This work is a non-interactive application called Confused Thinking, which is a representation of My conscience. From the beginning I wanted to keep it simple more than anything because I wanted to give a nod to how we started the year, in this case I was not inspired by eternal works but by heavyweights like Boris Groys and the concepts of Allan Kaprow (from their respective bibliographers which are GROYS, Boris. (2010). Installation policy and KAPROW, Allan. (1958). The legacy of Jackson Pollock) to make my work since what I wanted to convey with it, It’s like I spent the whole year, with confusing ideas surrounding and turning around in my head along with the things I wanted to do. As Boris said “art does not change things, but rather shows us the things we overlook” and the concepts about art left by Jackson Pollock investigated by Allan who speaks of this experimental and conceptual attitude towards painting and art that inspired my work to give me this freedom of concept to choose.
