Contenido Explícito

Artist: Zina María Stepanczuk

The work proposes to reflect on the concept of censorship that operates in social networks and digital sites, as well as the place that bodies occupy in virtuality. Content regulation limits freedom of expression and proposes a unilateral way of understanding which body is correct and which is not. Fat bodies are censored, skinny ones are left visible. Female bodies are censored and male bodies are allowed, with a value judgment that does not contemplate pluralities.

Biography

During the quarantine I started a project called ‘Digital Diary’ which corresponds to a series of screenshots that show the passing of the days during isolation. I investigate my link with technology through different social connection platforms, my virtual consumption, archival material and exhibitionism.
