El gato negro

Artist: Ayelén Ivanna Olivera

From the moment the work opens, we see in the center, as the main focus, the body of a girl completely naked, surrounded by cables, leaving the woman without any possibility of moving, since her torso, neck and feet are completely immobilized by the ties made by these same cables. Around this figure there are hundreds of different eyes, looking around as if they did not want to see, but always expectant, and thousands of voices in the background, whispering as if they could not be heard, but still without stopping, they do nothing more than that, talk and look, as if it were a spectacle. When the play button is pressed, a wall is generated between the spectators and the woman, and now, only the sounds of what is happening behind it can be heard, leaving only the imagination of each person, what may be happening behind that wall, however again there is an expectant eye, controlled by the spectator, but this time the voices can no longer be heard.

Biography

Ayelén Olivera, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I met the world on May 11, 2001, what year right?… from an early age I was interested in theater, so at the end of primary school I made the decision to enroll in the Nº1 Niní Marshall theater school. In 2018, together with a group of colleagues and friends, we formed a theater group called Estallido Disidente, our group does not seek to do the typical Italian theater so we play a lot with the layout of space and our bodies in it. At the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 we explored more audiovisual matters. Today I am finishing my theater studies and starting my Multimedia Arts degree at UNA.
