Ejercicio II

Artist: Vicente Andrés Cuadros Infante

Exercise II is an approach, a playful sketch, to problematize the vertical perspective and its crisis, raised by Hito Steyerl in his essay “In Free Fall. A mental experiment on vertical perspective.” A three-dimensional space, inhabited by spherical shapes and a cube, which are presented, built and mobilized based on the movements of the mouse, whose path is at the mercy of the user in an invitation to compose, and explore the microcosms that the exercise houses. These bodies that float with diverse axes of construction and translation, house other bodies within them, thus generating networks of perspectives and horizons. In this exercise the route, although it can be developed Cartesianly, assuming a beginning and an end, seeks more the contemplative exercise and the creation of environments, accompanied by a musical sequence designed from a tonal axis and its sub harmonics, frequencies that arise from the subdivision of the fundamental note, a process inverse to the harmonics, and that differs from tempered tunings.
